Platform Planet

“Mundane evil is the worst kind.”

Platform Planet
The planet Jupiter from the Trouvelot astronomical drawings (1881–1882) by E. L. Trouvelot (1827–1895).

“They murdered my family, Dave. They killed my people. Now they get to say whatever they want?” Cass stared at the holographic planet swirling before her. “Platform Planet was supposed to be a place that valued truth.”

Dave shrugged. “It was sold fairly.”

“It shouldn’t have been able to be sold at all!”

“The whole galactic democracy is built on free trade, kiddo. It’s about freedom, not truth. It’s not personal. It’s just business.”

“But who gives anyone the right to buy a world?”

“That’s just the way things are.”

Cass shook her head. “Mundane evil is the worst kind.”
