When the Wounded Don’t Heal, the World Burns
“They refuse to hear us,” Saufin told him. “So we’ll make them.”
There are many people in this world who prefer to spread the disease of their own pain to others, rather than learn to let what hurts them flow back into the universe. Jao knew this well. His town had been murdered in the War of Seven Days. He couldn’t see how Saufin’s plan to do the same to the people of Magini City did anything to make the world better.
“They refuse to hear us,” Saufin told him. “So we’ll make them.”
“Doesn’t that just mean we’re doing what was done to us?”
But Saufin did not respond.
